FAQs

Counselling & What to Expect

  • What kinds of concerns do you support?

People come to Mindscape Wellness for many different reasons. While we have particular experience supporting burnout, neurodivergence, parenting challenges, and life transitions, we also support concerns such as anxiety, depression, grief, stress, self-esteem, relationship challenges, caregiving responsibilities, identity exploration, emotional regulation, and feeling overwhelmed by life. You don't need to fit into a specific category to reach out.

  • Are sessions virtual or in person?

Sessions are offered virtually, allowing clients to access support from the comfort of their own space

  • How do I know if counselling is right for me?

If you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, navigating a life change, or simply wanting a supportive space to think things through, counselling may be helpful. You don't have to wait until things become a crisis.

  • Do you support LGBTQ+ and gender-diverse individuals?

Yes. Many parents and caregivers carry tremendous emotional, practical, and advocacy responsibilities. Support may focus on burnout, stress, school advocacy, family dynamics, emotional wellbeing, and navigating systems.

  • Do you offer support for burnout?

Yes. Burnout can affect work, relationships, identity, motivation, emotional regulation, and physical wellbeing. Support focuses on understanding what led to burnout and creating a more sustainable path forward.

  • Do you work with people who are not neurodivergent?

Yes. While neurodiversity-affirming support is a core focus, services are not limited to neurodivergent individuals. Anyone seeking support is welcome to reach out.

Support & Neurodivergence

  • I think I might be autistic or have ADHD, but I'm not sure. Can I still reach out?

Absolutely. Many adults begin exploring neurodivergence after years of feeling different, overwhelmed, misunderstood, or exhausted from masking. You do not need a formal diagnosis to discuss these experiences.

  • Do I need to have a formal diagnosis to access support?

No. Many people seek support because they suspect they may be neurodivergent, are exploring that possibility, or simply want support from a neurodiversity-affirming perspective.

  • Do you provide autism or ADHD assessments?

No. Mindscape Wellness does not provide diagnostic assessments for autism, ADHD, or other conditions. Support focuses on understanding experiences, building practical strategies, improving wellbeing, and navigating life more effectively.

  • What does "neurodiversity-affirming" mean?

Neurodiversity-affirming support recognizes neurological differences such as autism and ADHD as natural variations of human experience rather than problems to be fixed. Support focuses on understanding, self-awareness, accommodations, strengths, wellbeing, and sustainable ways of living.

  • Is Mindscape only for neurodivergent people?

No. Mindscape supports people experiencing burnout, anxiety, stress, life transitions, parenting challenges, relationship concerns, and other life difficulties. Neurodiversity-affirming care is one of our core values, but you do not need to identify as neurodivergent to access support.
