Sometimes support extends beyond the counselling room. We’ve gathered trusted resources that may help you learn more, find community, access additional services, or support someone you care about.

Neurodivergence & ADHD

  • Autism Canada – Autism Junction — Lets people search autism services and supports across Canada by province, age and category, including autistic-led/neurodivergent-created resources.
  • Autism Canada — Information, family support, funding information and resources for autistic people across the lifespan and their families.
  • CADDAC – Centre for ADHD Awareness Canada — Excellent Canadian ADHD resource for adults, youth and parents. They offer education, support groups, coaching programs and an ADHD Resource Navigator.
  • Foundry BC — Particularly useful for your 13–24-year-old clients. Free and confidential mental-health and wellness services in BC, including virtual services.

Burnout, Overwhelm & Mental Health

  • Here to Help BC — A B.C. resource library covering mental health, substance use, self-help information, workbooks, screening tools and finding support.
  • Foundry Virtual BC — Free virtual counselling, peer support and other services for BC youth ages 12–24 and caregivers of youth in that age range.
  • FamilySmart — For overwhelmed parents and caregivers. It provides free peer support and practical resources for families supporting children or youth with mental-health or substance-use challenges.

Parenting & Families

  • CADDAC Parenting Programs & Support Groups — Particularly appropriate for families navigating ADHD;
  • CADDAC currently offers parent education and free virtual parent support groups.
  • FamilySmart — BC Family Peer Support — This should probably be one of your featured resources. Parents can connect with another parent/caregiver with lived experience, and support is free and available across BC.
  • FamilySmart Resource Library — Printable guides and practical tools designed to help parents communicate with and support their children.

Grief, Loss & Bereavement

  • MyGrief.ca — Developed by Canadian Virtual Hospice with grief specialists and people with lived experience. People can work through grief resources privately and at their own pace.
  • KidsGrief.ca resources through Canadian Virtual Hospice — Particularly useful for parents trying to help children understand death and grief. It includes articles, videos and links to bereavement programs for children and teens by province.
  • Lanterns Prince George— A local program supporting children, adolescents and adults navigating grief following a death, divorce or other painful family transition.
  • David Kessler – Grief.com —  Practical grief education and resources from grief expert David Kessler, including guidance on understanding grief, supporting someone after a loss, and finding ways to live alongside grief.

LGBTQ2S+, Gender & Identity

  • Trans Care BC —It is a natural BC resource for transgender, Two-Spirit and gender-diverse people.
  • Pflag Canada — Good for LGBTQ2S+ people as well as parents, families and allies.
  • Foundry BC – Gender & Sexual Identity — Foundry's resource library specifically includes gender and sexual identity alongside relationships, equity/inclusivity and mental health.

Indigenous & Culturally Relevant Support

  • First Nations Health Authority – Mental Health & Wellness Supports — BC-specific culturally safe and trauma-informed mental-health resources and information about eligible counselling coverage.
  • Hope for Wellness Helpline — 24/7 support for Indigenous people across Canada by telephone or online chat.
  • Métis Nation British Columbia – Mental Health & Harm Reduction Mental health and wellness supports for Métis people in BC, including counselling funding, regional and youth wellness coordinators, harm reduction and family support, culturally grounded resources, and a 24/7 Métis Crisis Line

Newcomer, Immigrant & Culturally Diverse Supports.

  • MOSAIC Health & Counselling — BC-based counselling, wellness, settlement and group supports for immigrants and refugees. Their mental-health programming explicitly describes its approach as trauma-informed and culturally responsive. They also have specialized programs for newcomer seniors and 2SLGBTQIA+ newcomers.
  • Government of Canada – Mental Health & Wellbeing for Newcomers — A useful national starting point that connects newcomers with settlement organizations, mental-health resources and other supports.
  • AMSSA – Affiliation of Multicultural Societies and Service Agencies of BC — A BC network of organizations serving newcomers and culturally diverse communities. Its member organizations provide services ranging from settlement and language support to counselling.

When You Need More Support

  • 9-8-8 Suicide Crisis Helpline – Government of Canada information — Call or text 9-8-8, 24/7, if someone is thinking about suicide. Call 9-1-1 for immediate danger or urgent medical support.
  • Hope for Wellness Helpline — Indigenous people can call 1-855-242-3310 or use online chat, 24/7.
  • Foundry BC — Free mental-health and wellness support for BC youth ages 12–24 and their families.
